1. Course Opening, Cancellation & Changes by AF Dallas
Group classes are formed once a minimum enrollment of four (4) students is reached. A class with three (3) students can be subject to a reduction in the amount of hours from 2 hours per class, to 1 hour and 30 minutes per class. The Alliance Française de Dallas reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or adjust courses as needed based on enrollment or operational requirements.
If a class is canceled by AF Dallas, enrolled students will be notified by email and offered one of the following options:
- Transfer to another available class
- Credit toward a future class
- Full refund
2. Registration & Payment
2.1 Payment Policy
Full tuition payment is required at the time of enrollment. Partial payments are not accepted unless otherwise approved.
Tuition and fees may be paid by:
- Credit card online via PayPal
- Credit card by phone or in person at the school
- Check* (payable to Alliance Française de Dallas)
- Cash in person at the School
2.2 Textbooks & Course Materials
Class tuition fees do not include textbooks or workbooks unless otherwise stated. Books are mandatory for most group classes.
AF Dallas uses a third-party provider for course materials: Klett World of Language. Books can be ordered at: klettwl.com/store/content/francaisedallas.
Books may also be purchased through our website or at our office (subject to availability). If you require shipping, shipping fees must be purchased separately.
2.3 Prorated Tuition
Tuition is not prorated for late enrollment or foreseen absences. Any exceptions require prior written approval from the Pedagogy Coordinator.

3. Cancellation, Withdrawals & Refunds

3.1 Refunds
A full refund will be issued only when a written cancellation request is received before the first class session.
3.2 Credits
After the first class has taken place, students who withdraw will be eligible for a credit under the following conditions:
- A $30 administrative fee plus $35 per class that has already occurred will be deducted from the credit amount.
- Credits are valid for one (1) year from the date of issuance.
- Credits may be transferred to another member within the same family membership.
- No credit will be issued after the 3rd class session.
4. Missed Classes
Missed classes are non-refundable and cannot be credited.
We ask that students inform their instructor of any planned absence in advance. When informed of an absence, the instructor will plan the class accordingly, provide the student with information on the missed content, and assign any relevant homework. Recordings are available for online class sessions via the Student Portal.
5. Make-Up Classes
5.1 Make-Ups for AF Dallas-Initiated Cancellations
In the event that AF Dallas must cancel a scheduled class, a make-up session will be arranged as follows:
Due to instructor absence or illness:
- If a substitute instructor cannot be assigned, a make-up class will be scheduled by the original instructor at a mutually available time (if the session schedule permits), or a credit transferable to the next session will be issued.
Due to weather or other environmental factors:
- In-person classes will be rescheduled to a different date or moved online.
- Online classes will proceed as planned, provided no power outages are reported.
| Students who are unable to attend a scheduled make-up session will not be eligible for an additional make-up or refund. |
5.2 Optional Individual Make-Up Classes (Student Request)
If a student misses a class for personal reasons, they have the option to schedule an individual make-up lesson:
- Cost: $55 for a 1-hour, one-on-one session with the instructor.
- The session is designed to review missed content and assignments.
- Availability is subject to instructor confirmation.
To schedule an individual make-up class:
- Step 1: Confirm availability with your instructor.
