The World of Niki de Saint-Phalle – Art Workshop & Exhibition

Join the Nanas Workshop, led by Sophie and Françoise on Tuesday afternoons, for an inspiring journey into the whimsical and poetic universe of French-American artist Niki de Saint-Phalle. Participants will explore unconventional artistic techniques and have the chance to create their own unique sculpture.

The workshop takes place at the Alliance Française on Tuesdays, March 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31 from 2:00pm to 4.30pm.

About the artists:

• Sophie holds degrees in art history, visual arts, and French as a foreign language. With over 20 years of experience in diverse artistic practices in France, including Marseille and the South-West, she also lived in Asia for several years. In South Korea, she explored painting, ceramics, and the traditional Korean knotting technique, Maedups. Her fascination with archaeology and ancient myths inspires her series of wire-and-stone sculptures, blending ceramics, concrete, and wood into mysterious figures reminiscent of ancient civilizations.
  
• Françoise has always been drawn to aesthetics and beauty. Her time abroad, particularly in Mexico and Spain, shaped her artistic vision. Immersed in vibrant colors, rich materials, and traditional crafts, she has developed her skills in mosaics and raku through both courses and workshops.
  

At the end of the workshop series, participants’ creations will be displayed in an exhibition, celebrating their exploration of creativity and the enduring influence of Niki de Saint-Phalle.
